Religious Education

NOTE: Because of COVID-19, most of the programs that require gathering have been suspended. Religious Education classes for children are taking place virtually – except for first grade and the sacramental classes, which are at the church while adhering to all mandated safety protocols. Adult programs, such as Sunday Scripture Study and the Book Club, are taking place on Zoom, as well as our Youth Ministry meetings.

Under the supervision of the parish priest, St. Paul’s Ministry for Education and Formation is a coordinated program encompassing the religious education, formation and development of all our parishioners from pre-school through adulthood.

Following are some highlights in non-COVID-19 times:
Potty-trained 3-, 4- and 5-years olds are invited to our Seeds program, which is available many Sunday mornings throughout the school year. Parents are able to focus on Mass while the seeds of faith are planted in a safe, separate, setting for their children.

During Sunday Masses and before the start of the readings, children in Grade 1 and older are invited to the Children’s Liturgy of the Word (CLW) and then returned to their families after the homily.

Grade 1 students receive Religious Instruction between the Masses on Sunday mornings; classes for Grades 2 through 8 take place Tuesday and Wednesday evenings at 6:30. Families must be registered with the church, and parents/guardians are expected to participate in parish activities, including Mass.
