The Greater Middletown Interfaith Council’s Warming Station ( provides a safe space for up to 30 homeless men and women each night through April 7.

Clients receive a hot meal upon their arrival, as well as a bag of nonperishable breakfast items in the morning. If you are able to assist with food, visit the website (type in “The Warming Station” for recipient’s last name, and the password is “Meal”). There you will find details and a sign-up schedule. In particular, comfort foods such as hearty soups, stews and casseroles – enough to generously feed 30 – are requested. For more information, email Peg at

Volunteers – either for the period from 8-10 p.m. or overnight – are also needed. The next training is 7 p.m. January 19. For more information, contact Marilyn at
