GENERATIONS TO UNITE AT MOVIE NIGHT

What better way to unite the generations than with a movie!

And that’s just what Generations United has on tap for the 13th of February, which is the Friday before Ash Wednesday.

Deacon John Hall will be transformed into a movie theater of sorts – complete with freshly popped popcorn. Feel free to bring pillows, blankets, bean bags or even beach chairs, anything to make you comfy – and that includes additional snacks and drinks.

The evening’s feature, “Light of the World,” will begin after everyone’s settled, around 7 p.m. (and no previews to sit through!). The movie choice is a thoughtful selection that’s perfect for families and for the approaching season of Lent.

The hand-drawn 2D animated film – a medium chosen by its creative team because of its subtle “human” flaws that symbolically honor Jesus, the only unflawed person to ever walk the earth – is set in

AD 30. Everyone is awaiting the Messiah. While Jesus isn’t exactly what anyone expected, there is something special about this man. His story is told through the eyes of his beloved young friend, the Apostle John (the film ironically unites the generations, too!) and beautifully illustrates how Jesus of Nazareth changed the world forever and still changes lives today!
