PRAY FOR THE SACRAMENTAL CANDIDATES

At Mass on Sunday, February 1, the 12 students preparing to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation on April 18 and the 13 third-graders who will make their First Holy Communion on May 9 will be presented to the congregation. They will then receive a special blessing from Fr. Sean.

And at the socials the weekend of January 31 and February 1, there will be a “Prayer Tree” in the hall decorated with doves and chalices, representing the sacramental candidates. Their photos will also be posted in the hall.

Parishioners are invited to take the name(s) of one – or more – students off the tree to pray for as they prepare to receive the gift of these sacraments.

FAMILY DEVOTIONAL SERIES

Chris Worthington and Deb Harrison, our youth ministers, have launched The SPYM Family Devotional Series.  They first review the reading in the “Living Faith: Daily Catholic Devotions” to ascertain the day’s core message and then determine how to present it to their audience. A short video, which includes a Scripture reading and thoughts for our youth and their parents to reflect upon, is then recorded and uploaded. Each weekday offers a new Devotional, which can be accessed using the YouTube link below or on Facebook and Instagram. Check it out!
